2024

On 25 January 2024, the Supreme Administrative Court rendered a judgment on the dispute between ITV and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to uphold
the Central Administrative Cort’s dismissal of PMO’s petition, citing the legitimacy of the arbitral award as the rationale. This dispute involved the submission of a case by ITV on 9 May 2007 to the Thai Arbitration Institute to consider the lawfulness of PMO’s termination of the Operating Agreement using the USF System (the Operating Agreement) on 7 March 2007. As a result, ITV and PMO have discharged each other from their respective obligations of 2,890 million baht. Moreover, ITV is released from any debts, duties, or contractual obligations under the Operating Agreement and bears no liability toward PMO

2023

INTOUCH revised its dividend policy from “pass-through the dividend received after deducting expenses subject to other necessary financial needs”
to “pass-through 100% of the dividend received after deducting expenses subject to other necessary financial needs.”

Advanced mPAY Company Limited (mPAY), a subsidiary of AIS, disposed of all investment of a 33.33% stake in Rabbit-Line Pay Company Limited (RLP), which operates an e-wallet service through Line application, to LINE MAN (Thailand) Company Limited and Line Company (Thailand) Limited. AIS’ business direction continues toward the aspiration of providing digital life services through existing
partnerships and operations and aims to leverage the core business to offer a new digital experience in providing relevant services to our customers.

Advanced Wireless Network Company Limited (AWN”), a subsidiary of AIS has entered into an agreement to accept a transfer of the license of 700 MHz spectrum for telecommunications service from National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT), in the frequency range 738-743 MHz pair with 793-798 MHz (2×5 MHz bandwidth), the expiration date of the spectrum license is March 31, 2036, which has been approved by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). The total spectrum value is THB 14,866 million. This enables AIS to expand its 5G service to cover remote areas in upcountry and high-rise buildings with greater efficiency and upgrade network capacity to support the growing demand for 5G.

Advanced Wireless Network Company Limited (AWN), a subsidiary of AIS, completed its acquisition of shares in Triple T Broadband Public Company Limited (TTTBB), and AIS completed its acquisition of investment units
in Jasmine Broadband Internet Infrastructure Fund (JASIF) on November 15, 2023. TTTBB becomes a subsidiary of AWN, and AIS holds a 19% stake in JASIF.
After the acquisition, AIS’s fixed broadband business will grow by leaps and bounds. With a customer base of over 4.7 million households nationwide,
the company has become a leader in Thailand’s home internet market with a network covering more than 13 million households.

2022

Disposal of all shares held in THCOM by the Company to Gulf Ventures Company Limited, a 100% owned subsidiary of Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited, on 30 December 2022, which is in accordance with the resolution of Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders No.1/2022, convened on 28 December 2022. By disposing of all shares in THCOM, THCOM will cease to be a subsidiary of the Company.

Disposal of all shares held in 10 startups under InVent. As of the end of 2022, there were 6 companies in the InVent portfolio.

Established a subsidiary company, AIS DC Venture Co., Ltd., and signed a Joint Development Agreement (Data Center Business) in collaboration with Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (GULF) and Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel) to support the growth and response to the demand for digital infrastructure in Thailand.

AIS Digital Life Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of AIS which holds 99.99%, purchased shares in three startup companies from Intouch, namely Choco card Enterprise Co., Ltd., Datafarm Co., Ltd., and Swift Dynamics Co., Ltd., The investment aims to support AIS in driving new value-added digital services that can leverage and strengthen AIS’s existing core business, in line with AIS’s business direction towards becoming a digital life service provider.

Received the arbitral award dated 29 September 2022 in which the Tribunal unanimously awarded that THAICOM 7 and THAICOM 8 Satellites are not Satellites under the Agreement.THCOM is not obligated to comply with the claim by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society in the mentioned dispute.

2021

In January, AWN (a subsidiary of AIS) made the first payment for the 700MHz spectrum and paid for the 26GHz spectrum in February to utilize 5G technology from all spectrums in accordance with the public sector’s intention of steering Thailand to Digital Intelligent Nation.

In February, AIS was awarded with “Thailand Mike Award 2020” and “Global Mike Award 2020” for its innovation and technology leadership in Thailand which sustainably foster innovating organization and country development.

In June, AIS was officially appointed as service provider of Disney+ Hotstar.

In October, AIS has incorporated a new joint venture company with SCB under the name AISCB Co., Ltd. (“AISCB”), having a registered capital of Bt 600 Million at 100 Baht per share. AIS hold 50% shareholding in the JV with the investment value Bt 300 Million. The objective of AISCB is to provide the digital lending via online platform.

In November, AIS was listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the third consecutive year as leader of telecommunication in Thailand. AIS drove the digital economy of the country fostering sustainable development and growth. Additionally, AIS was awarded “HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2021” for three consecutive years. This reflected success in human resource development through strength in digital technology.

In December, AIS was awarded “The Most Powerful Brand of Thailand 2020” under the mobile operator category for the fifth consecutive year. The award was hosted by the marketing major, faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University. Moreover, AIS was awarded for “MIKE Award 2021” for knowledge management and innovation. AIS was the only Thai operator to receive two awards namely “Winners of the Global MIKE Award 2021” for two consecutive years, and “MIKE Thailand Gold Award 2021”.

In June, THAICOM established new wholly owned subsidiary namely TC Space Connect Company Limited (TCSC) to operating satellite service provider for telecommunications. TCSC has registered capital of Bt 100 Million with the par value of 10 each and paid-up capital was Bt 25 Million.

In September, the Domestic Communication Satellite Operating Agreement ended on 10 September 2021. As of the agreement expiration date, THAICOM has returned the possession of the satellite and all assets under the agreement to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. The Ministry has granted the rights to manage such assets to National Telecommunications Public Company Limited. After the end of the agreement, the subsidiaries of THAICOM has entered into the memorandum of agreement to purchase some bandwidth capacity on Thaicom 4 and Thaicom 6 satellites from National Telecommunications Public Company Limited, thus THAICOM Group is able to continue providing service to customers.

INTOUCH invested in one more start-up company, namely Conicle Co., Ltd. and invested in Viola venture VI. LP., a fund of fund in Israel, INTOUCH monetized its investments in Event Pop Holdings Pte. Ltd. and VVR Asia Co., Ltd. in 2021. As of the end of 2021, there were 17 companies in the InVent portfolio.

In September, INTOUCH sold all of its shares in High Shopping to JKN Best Life Co., Ltd.

2020

In February, AWN (a subsidiary of AIS) participated in the 5G license auction and was awarded the low-band 700MHz (2 x 5MHz blocks), mid-band 2600MHz (100MHz block) and high-band 26GHz (1,200MHz block) frequency spectrums for a total amount of 42,060 million baht.

In February, AIS launched a nationwide 5G service using the 2600MHz spectrum, the first operator to officially provide a 5G service in Thailand.

> In March, WDS (a subsidiary of AIS) jointly invested in Digital Gaming International Pte. (DGI) to provide a gaming content platform using AI technology in order to meet the demand for various online games and eSports content. Singtel and SK Telekom Co., Ltd. also jointly invested in DGI.

In June, ABN (a subsidiary of AIS) and Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Plc. (SPI) established a joint venture company to install a fiber-optic network and ICT infrastructure in SPI’s industrial park (covering 7,255 rai) and develop 5G solutions to improve operational efficiency.

In July, AIS collaborated with Amata Corporation Plc. to install important digital infrastructure, such as 5G technology and fiber-optic networks, to offer Smart City solutions for the Eastern Economic Corridor.

In August, AIS collaborated with U-Tapao Airport to install a 5G network and develop solutions for passenger management. These include AI robots to interactively communicate with passengers, lead them to various service areas, and provide basic information.

In February, THAICOM ceased operating Thaicom 5 and completed the deorbiting process. This satellite had provided reliable communication services for 14 years since its launch in May 2006.

In June, CAT Telecom Plc. (which recently merged with TOT to become National Telecom Plc. [NT]) and THAICOM established a joint venture company called Nation Space and Technology Co., Ltd. (NSAT) to develop telecom services via Low Earth Orbit Satellite systems. The shareholding proportion between THAICOM and NT is 75:25.

In July 2020, Thai Advance Innovation (Thai AI), a subsidiary of THAICOM and AI and Robotics Ventures Co., Ltd. (ARV), which is a subsidiary of PTT Exploration and Production Plc., established a joint venture company called ATI Technologies Co., Ltd. (ATI) to develop, produce and distribute unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for Thailand’s agricultural sector. The shareholding proportion between Thai AI and ARV is 50:50.

LTC (a joint venture company of one of THAICOM’s subsidiaries) established Lao Mobile Money Sole Co., Ltd., a mobile platform for payments and money transfers, which operates in Lao PDR under the brand “M-Money”. Its customers are in both the private and public sectors.

High Shopping adapted to changes in purchasing behavior during the Covid-19 shutdown. The company saw the business opportunity and potential growth in online sales so it began to focus on this channel, and hired various influencers to promote products in order to boost sales.

INTOUCH invested in five more start-up companies, namely Datafarm Co., Ltd., Axinan Pte. Ltd., Paronym Inc., Chomchobgroup Co., Ltd. and Swift Dynamics Co., Ltd., and made additional investments in Peer Power Co., Ltd. and Choco Card Enterprise Co., Ltd.

INTOUCH monetized its investments in Social Nation Inc. and Wongnai Media Co., Ltd. in April and September, respectively. As a result, there were eighteen companies in the InVent portfolio at the end of the year.

2019

High Shopping’s revenue continued to grow through offering high-margin products and obtaining repeat orders. The number of sales channels increased on other platforms, namely digital TV, pay TV and satellite TV to reach more viewers. In addition, High Shopping started collecting delivery fees from its customers in the fourth quarter in order to increase revenue.

INTOUCH invested in three more start-up companies, namely Peer Power Co., Ltd., Doctor A to Z Co., Ltd. and Ninja Logistics Pte. Ltd. In addition, the Company sold all its shares in Digio (Thailand) Co., Ltd. for a return of 30% (capital gain). As a result, there are currently fifteen companies in the InVent portfolio.

On 5 March, ADD (a subsidiary of AIS) launched an online insurance brokerage service. By leveraging its technological and digital expertise, ADD has developed products and services to accommodate the lifestyle of Thais and support alliances with various industries in order to grow sustainably.

On 8 May, AIS was awarded the “World’s Strongest Telecoms Brand” by Brand Finance, based on survey and ranking results covering financial strength, investment, stakeholder equity and potential for business expansion. Brand Finance is the world’s leading independent brand valuation consultancy.

On 19 June, AWN (a subsidiary of AIS) was granted the right to obtain a license to use the 700MHz spectrum license (in the frequency range 723-733MHz paired with 778-788MHz) by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). This license will enable AIS to prepare for the future 5G service in order to become a Digital Life Service Provider for businesses and other entities.

On 24 September, AIS and U-Tapao Rayong Pattaya International Airport jointly announced a new digital service to fulfill the potential of becoming a Smart Terminal in the future.

On 13 November, AIS collaborated with Huawei Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Nokia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and ZTE Corporation to test 5G technology. AIS is the only operator to successfully test 5G nationwide.

In January, LTC (a joint venture company of one of THAICOM’s subsidiaries) entered into a Sale and Purchase Agreement to acquire Vimplecom Company Limited, which also operates a telecom business in Lao PDR. This acquisition will significantly enhance LTC’s network efficiency and expand its target market, especially among the younger generation. After the acquisition, Vimplecom changed its registered name to TPLUS Digital Company Limited on 2 September.

On 21 August, THAICOM sold all its shares in CDN, a distributor of satellite receiver sets in Cambodia, to Quality TV Shopping Co., Ltd. for 800,000 US dollars (24,640,320 baht). This disposal of investment was in accordance with a recent adjustment to THAICOM’s business direction.

On 20 September, THAICOM announced that it had signed an Agreement of Intention with Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC). According to the framework of the agreement, THAICOM and RSCC will initially study roaming options on their proprietary maritime VSAT networks. Roaming on THAICOM’s network will be provided by Nava Roaming Solutions. Nava is THAICOM’s new maritime broadband service platform, addressing the needs of ship owners and offshore operators for fast, reliable and secure satellite-enabled broadband connectivity and managed services. The RSCC maritime VSAT network is the largest satellite broadband network in Russia, connecting more than 300 maritime vessels operating in the waters near Russia and Europe. On 10 October, THAICOM announced that that it had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC). The two companies will cooperate in the area of application development for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and BeiDou – China’s proprietary Global Navigation Satellite System (BDS). This deal is part of THAICOM’s ambition to diversify its business and enter the emerging next technology markets through the integration of space, air, ground and maritime networks.

2018

High Shopping’s revenue continued to grow as the company focused on offering a wider range of products, such as fashion, jewelry, and seasonal items. High Shopping increased its live broadcasting to improve sales, and continued its partnerships with satellite TV operators, in order to raise its profile and reach more viewers.

INTOUCH invested in three more start-up companies, namely YDM (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Choco Card Enterprise Co., Ltd. and Ecartstudio Co., Ltd. In addition, the Company completed a share swap with WR Asia Co., Ltd., exchanging its stakes in Infinity Levels Studio Pte. Ltd. and Sinoze Co., Ltd. for preferred shares in VVR Asia. Consequently, there are currently thirteen companies in the InVent portfolio.

On 5 January, AWN and SBN (a subsidiary of AIS) entered into commercial agreements with TOT Public Company Limited to strengthen network quality and efficiently serve over 40 million subscribers as data consumption grows. These commercial agreements will end in August 2025.

On 5 March, AMP (a subsidiary of AIS) signed a joint venture agreement with Rabbit Pay System Company Limited and Line Pay Corporation (Japan) to invest in Rabbit-Line Pay Company Limited (“RLP”) with a stake of 33.33% each. The purpose of this investment was to expand into the e-money and e-payment business in response to consumer demand in the digital age.

On 12 July, AWN reported the results of a tender offer for CSL shares. After the tender offer was executed, AWN’s shareholding increased from 81.47% to 98.96% and CSL was delisted from the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

On 19 August, AWN was granted an 1800MHz spectrum license for the 1740-1745MHz frequency band (paired with the 1835-1840MHz band) by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (“NBTC”). This will align the voice and data services with the 4G standard and improve the user experience.

THAICOM adjusted its strategy for becoming the leading Asian satellite and digital platform operator by focusing on three areas, namely the core satellite business, new adjacent business, and business prototyping.

THAICOM launched its new flagship mobility service in the satellite broadband business (“Nava maritime service platform”) to provide maritime connectivity. This will increase the operational efficiency on board ocean-going vessels, and connect their crews and passengers to high-speed internet anywhere and at any time. THAICOM and Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited (BCSCL), a satellite operator owned by the government of Bangladesh, signed a multi-year consulting services agreement. Under this agreement, THAICOM will provide comprehensive business and market development services to BCSCL for Bangabandhu Satellite-1, Bangladesh’s first geostationary satellite, which was successfully launched on 11 May 2018.

2017

On 5 September, AIS sent a non-binding and conditional letter of intent to THAICOM and Singtel, the major shareholders of CSL, stating its interest in acquiring a 56.21% stake in the latter at 7.80 baht per share. Later on 14 December, AWN, a subsidiary of AIS, submitted the Application Form for Conditional Voluntary Tender Offer to the shareholders of CSL at the aforementioned price.

High Shopping has transformed itself in the digital era to collaborate with Lazada and Shopee, the most popular e-commerce websites in Thailand, in order to increase sales channels and reach more consumers.

INTOUCH invested in three more start-up companies, namely Digio (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Event Pop Holdings Pte. Ltd. and Ecommerce Enablers Pte. Ltd. (Shopback). There are currently eleven companies under venture capital management through the InVent project.

AIS launched AIS NEXT G, a new network to serve high-data users by merging AIS 4G ADVANCED and AIS SUPER WIFI. This network offers a maximum transfer rate of one gigabit per second.

THAICOM signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Starcor Media Technologies Limited to develop the next generation Over-the-Top (OTT) platform in Thailand. This collaboration will create value-added services for the business, education, government and telecom sectors in Thailand.

2016

On 6 January 2016, High Shopping started its home shopping business through broadcasting on a satellite television platform. After that, in August 2016, High Shopping started offering its products through its website www.highshopping.com and application HIGH SHOPPING in addition to its existing satellite television platform.

The Company, through InVent, invested in two more companies, namely Wongnai Media Co., Ltd. and Social Nation, Inc. Meanwhile, INTOUCH monetized Computerlogy Co., Ltd. and ShopSpot Mobility Pte. Ltd. in 2016.

On 30 June 2016, Advanced Wireless Network Co., Ltd. (AWN) was granted a 900MHz license for the 895-905MHz frequency band paired with 940-950MHz from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC). At the end of 2016, AWN had already rolled out its network covering 98% of the population, with 4G network installation at 42,100 locations nationwide.

AIS has expanded “AIS Fibre”, a high-speed broadband home internet service with the latest FTTx technology. This service was launched one and a half years ago, and the broadband network now covers 5.2 million home passes in 28 provinces with 301,500 subscribers.

Thaicom 8 was successfully launched on 28 May 2016, and reached the 78.5 degrees East orbital slot. THAICOM currently provides services through five satellites.

2015

Intouch Media Co., Ltd. (Intouch Media) and South Korea-based Hyundai Home Shopping Network Corporation (Hyundai Home Shopping) established a joint venture company, namely High Shopping Co., Ltd. (High Shopping), a home-shopping business in Thailand with authorized capital of 500 million baht. Intouch Media invested 255 million baht for a shareholding of 51% while Hyundai Home Shopping invested the remaining amount for a shareholding of 49%.

Intouch Media and Kantana Group Plc. (Kantana Group) created a new experience for Thai TV viewers, producing a new TV series called Gossip Girl Thailand. It was the first launch of a full-scale second screen viewing platform in Thailand.

The Company, through InVent, invested in four more companies, namely Sinoze Co., Ltd., Playbasis Pte. Ltd., Golfdigg Co., Ltd. and ShopSpot Mobility Pte. Ltd.

AIS launched the “AIS Fibre” broadband home internet service with a speed of 1 Gbps as the first and only full-scale PURE Fibre service provider. A package that includes entertainment from the AIS PLAYBOX was also introduced.
On 25 November 2015, AWN was granted an 1800MHz license for the 1725-1740MHz frequency band paired with 1820-1835MHz from the NBTC. As of January 2016, AWN had installed 4G network access at 6,000 locations nationwide.

Shenington Investment Pte. Ltd. (SHEN), a subsidiary of THAICOM, and the government of Lao PDR officially agreed to extend the Joint Venture Agreement and the Master Agreement for the Development of Telecommunications Services in Lao PDR. As a result, Lao Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (LTC), a joint venture holding via SHEN, obtained the right to operate communication services in Lao PDR for a further period of 25 years until 2046.

2014

The Company’s name and seal were changed to “Intouch Holdings Public Company Limited” on 31 March 2014.

Transcosmos Inc. in Japan purchased newly-issued shares in Ookbee Co., Ltd. (Ookbee), equivalent to 11.11% of the paid-up capital, in the amount of 5 million USD (approximately 161.6 million baht), which resulted in INTOUCH’s investment portion decreasing to 22.26%.

The Company changed its dividend policy from “not less than 40% of the Company’s net profits” to “pass through dividends received from its associates and subsidiaries after the deduction of operating expenses”.

Intouch Media invested in a joint venture with Kantana Group with an initial investment of 40 million baht (50% each) in order to produce digital television content and leverage the potential of its existing businesses.

INTOUCH made a new investment in Infinity Levels Studio Pte. Ltd. under the InVent project.

AIS announced the successful expansion of its 3G on 2100MHz network, which reached nationwide coverage in one year. This was wider than the existing 2G network and sooner than the target of 80% coverage within four years required by the NBTC.

Thaicom 6 was successfully launched on 6 January 2014, and reached the 78.5 degrees East orbital slot.

Thaicom 7 was successfully launched on 7 September 2014, and reached the 120 degrees East orbital slot.

2013

The Company made new investments in InVent project which are Meditech Solution Co., Ltd. who is a manufacturer and vendor of eye blink communication aids for paralytics and other disabled people, by taking 30% stake with total investment of 4.99 million baht, and Computerlogy Co., Ltd. who is a software development company specialized in social media management tool, by taking 25% stake with total investment of 29.01 million baht.

AWN officially launched the 3G mobile telephone services on 2.1GHz band.

2012

The Company launched a corporate venture capital project under the name “InVent”, which is a new paradigm shift for Thai industry to have corporate venture capital injecting funds into Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) who have great potential and performance in telecommunications, media, IT, and digital content. This will support Thai SMEs to gain competitiveness for the coming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 and also expanding the Company’s investment portfolio.

The Company invested in the first InVent investment, Ookbee Co., Ltd., who is a market leader in providing e-publication platform, by taking 25.03% stake with total investment of 57.48 million baht.

Advanced Wireless Network Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of AIS, was officially awarded the 2.1GHz license from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).

The NBTC awarded the 20-year period for license Type III of Telecom services to THAICOM for Thaicom 7 operations. This is the first satellite under a license system.

2011

The Company changed corporate name and logo of more than 20 years from “SHIN” to “INTOUCH” which reflect a more friendly and optimistic image.
THAICOM was granted an approval from The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology to build Thaicom 6 satellite.

THAICOM and Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement to place an interim satellite at the 120 degrees East orbital slot, while a new satellite will be launched in 2014. This cooperation will preserve the 120 degrees East orbital slot for Thailand and will provide additional broadcast, telecommunications and broadband services across the Asia-Pacific region.

The Company sold part of its investment in AIS, comprising 61 million shares or 2.05% of AIS’s paid-up capital, to Singtel Strategic Investments Pte. Ltd., who has been one of AIS existing shareholders, at 130 baht per share, amounting to 7,930 million baht. After the transaction, the Company is still the major shareholder of AIS with 40.45% shareholding. Therefore it will not affect the Company’s control in AIS or the business operations of AIS.

2010

THAICOM 1A and THAICOM 2 satellite were deorbited after they have reached their end of life.

2008

The Company sold all PS shares.
AIS bought shares of Advanced Mpay Co., Ltd. (AMP) held by NTT DoCoMo Co., Ltd., resulting to AIS’s stake in AMP increased to 99.99%.

AIS sold Advanced Data Network Communications Co., Ltd. shares, representing 51% stakes to DPC, a subsidiary with 98.55% owned by AIS, in order to restructure the group organization to create a synergy of voice and data communication via mobile and internet network.

CSL decreased its capital by reducing par value from Baht 1.00 to Baht 0.25.

2007

On 6 March 2007, the cabinet resolved to cease ITV’s broadcasting. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) sent the notice dated 7 March 2007, to revoke the operating agreement of ITV on the ground that ITV did not pay the shortfall fees including interest and fine. The PMO also ordered ITV to transfer back the assets under BTO concept of the operating agreement. Hence, ITV had to cease the operation of the UHF system television station. However, ITV further proceeds in litigation and files the claim against the PMO according to the dispute settlement process asking for compensation in the form of money damages to be payable to ITV. During this time, the cases are under the dispute settlement process at the Arbitration Institute.

The Company bought Payment Solution Co., Ltd. (PS) from OK.

The Company sold its entire stake in OK to ACAP Advisory Plc and ORIX Corporation.

The Company sold its entire stake in AA (49%), to TAA’s top management.
THAICOM sold 49% stake in Shenington Investment Pte. Ltd. (SHEN) to Asia Mobile Holdings Pte. Ltd., diluting THAICOM’s holding in SHEN to 51%.

2006

Thaicom 5 satellite was successfully launched into orbit and Thaicom 3 satellite was taken out of its orbit, as it had experienced an extensive power loss that made it incapable of providing further service.

> The Company’s holding in OK increased to 99.99% after the Company acquired OK shares held by DBS Bank.

The Company sold its entire stake in TAA to Asia Aviation Company Limited (AA), in which the Company holds 49%. This diluted the Company’s holding in TAA to 24.50%.

CSL acquired AD Venture Company Limited (ADV) from the Company and Mitsubishi group. ADV was a shareholder of Shineedotcom Company Limited, which operates mobile content business as well as portal web, hunsa.com.

2005

THAICOM increased capital by issuing 208 million new ordinary shares at Baht 15.30 each, placed with institutional and individual investors, bringing in Baht 3,182 million. This diluted the Company’s holding in THAICOM to 41.34%.

Thaicom 4 (IPSTAR) satellite, the first broadband satellite in Asia Pacific, was successfully launched into orbit. IPSTAR commenced with services for TOT, which is the national service operator for IPSTAR in Thailand.

ITV (holding 60%), CA Mobile Ltd. (25%) and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (15%) established Media Connex Company Limited to operate mobile content business. In 2006, the holding proportion was changed to ITV 60% and Mitsui 40%.

TMC became a wholly owned subsidiary of CSL after CSL purchased the remaining 36.75% in TMC from TOT.

2004

CS LoxInfo Public Company Limited (CSL) purchased a 38.25% stake in Teleinfo Media Company Limited (TMC) from the Company and 25% from Singtel Interactive Pte. Ltd., which made CSL to be the major shareholder in TMC with 63.25% stakes. This allowed CSL to enhance revenue by using the strengths lying in TMC’s information system.

CSL was listed on the SET through an IPO.

2003

The Company and AirAsia Sdn. Bhd. established Thai AirAsia Company Limited (TAA), holding 50% and 49%, respectively, to operate a budget airline. The Company also set up Capital OK Company Limited with DBS Bank, Singapore, with 60% and 40% stakes, respectively, to operate a consumer finance business. These two businesses started operations in 2004.

2002

ITV was listed on the SET, issuing new ordinary shares for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) that included some shares held by the Company. As a result, the Company’s stakes in ITV diluted to 55.53%.

2001

The wireless business was restructured, with DPC moved to directly under AIS, whose stake rose to 98.17% after acquiring DPC from TMI Mauritius Limited.
The Company and AIS changed par value from Baht 10 per share to Baht 1 per share.

The Company became ITV’s major shareholder with 77.48% stake via purchasing shares from Siam Commercial Bank and a tender offer.

2000

The Company bought 45.59% stakes in Digital Phone Company Limited (DPC), an operator providing mobile telephone services on the 1800 MHz band, from Samart Corporation Public Company Limited. After a capital increase, the Company’s stakes in DPC increased to 47.55%.

The Company invested in ITV, taking 39% stakes via a capital increase.

1999

Singapore Telecom International Pte. Ltd. became a shareholder in AIS, diluting the Company’s stake to 42%.

1997

Thaicom 3 satellite was successfully launched into orbit.

1994

Shinawatra Satellite Public Company Limited was listed on the SET (its name was changed to Shin Satellite Public Company Limited in 1999, and then Thaicom Public Company Limited in 2008, THAICOM).

Thaicom 2 satellite was successfully launched into orbit.

1993

Thaicom 1 satellite was successfully launched into orbit.

Shinawatra Satellite Company Limited was changed to Public Company Limited.

1991

Shinawatra Satellite Company Limited was permitted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications to operate Thailand’s first commercial satellite for 30 years, with 8 years of exclusivity.

Advanced Info Service Company Limited was listed on the SET and changed to a Public Company Limited in 1992.

1990

Shinawatra Computer Company Limited was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).

Advanced Info Service Company Limited (AIS) was permitted by the Telephone Organization of Thailand (currently TOT Public Company Limited – TOT) to provide mobile telephone services on the 900 MHz band exclusively under the BTO (build-transfer-operate) concept. In 1996, the operating period was extended to 25 years, ending in 2015.

Shinawatra Computer Service and Investment Company Limited was established to supply and lease mini and mainframe computers (the company’s name was changed to Shinawatra Computer Company Limited in 1984, and then Shin Corporation Public Company Limited in 1999, the Company).
